Bring out the Fashion Police cause we are going to knock your fashion socks off at the Eco Film Fest 2010. Organised by Global Environment Centre (GEC) in partnership with CIMB Islamic, this fashion competition encourages university students to be creative in coming up with a fashion statement using only recycled items.
Be it plastics, paper, or even metal, this competition aims to fuse creativity and the idea of reusing items in the name of fashion. If you are a university student and would like to participate, sign up with GEC TODAY!
Dress it up! Most of the things we throw away can usually be used to make something new! What better way to re-use items than to fashion it into new clothes!
So get creative and design an entire outfit out of old or used items. A fashion show will be held at the Eco Film Festival on 17th October to show off your creation – so make sure you have a model ready and that your clothes can be worn!

- It may be argued that old or used clothes are considered re-using materials. It definitely is. But it is advisable to get a little bit more creative and use unconventional materials like used plastic bottles, box drink cartons, old newspapers etc. It should be as 'natural' and creative as possible and yet practical.
- Things like glue, thread etc. can obviously be used to put together the garment, but obviously if you can find a better way to put it together without using new materials that would be a bonus.
