Indonesian Denim Group (INDIGO)

Did you see the Random Sadoshots: "My name is Red" I posted earlier this week? This is the feature story.

Last Saturday morning, I received a phone call from an old friend, Ryan Lazuardi, asking me if I'm free to meet up for a drink and chat later that day. I haven't seen him for quite some time, a year I guess, so I thought, couldn't be a better timing so yeah let's meet up brother...

I was supposed to meet him around six at Pavilion, but due to my involvement in the Earth Day Carnival @ Ikano, I arrived at Lecka-Lecka, Starhill slightly after eight.

Little did I know, it was actually a small gathering of denimheads (a term for someone who collects and shows interest in denim/jeans), called themselves INDIGO, which stands for Indonesian Denim Group. Most of them, if not all, are Indonesian students here in Malaysia.

So I chatted with some of them which I met for the first time.

After a drink and some laughs, I had to excuse myself for another appointment, and coincidentally the rest were making their moves too.

So everybody gathered again for a photo session.

You can spot some nice jeans and sneakers too.

When it comes to being trendy, fashionable, bold and current, I have to say the Indonesians are doing it very well, better than how Malaysians dress up. They are better at expressing themselves through fashion.

I'm not so much of a denimhead if you ask me, but I do collect and wear some pretty decent jeans. This time,

Yours Truly:
Nudie Jeans "Slim Jim" Broken Twill
Nike SB Dunk Lo "Pushead"

That yellow-tee guy besides me was Ryan. And look at his sneakers,

Nike Dunk Hi "Undefeated" NL

A perfect example on how you should wear your sneakers.

This is the actual colour, if you keep them nicely in your closet.

Remember: WEAR IT, TEAR IT, DON'T SPARE IT.

Lastly, if you wish to know more about denim and want to be part of the coolness, you can join the INDIGO group on Facebook. Click at the INDIGO word.

Oh, last but not least, there's also a very cool website you can join as well, it is called Darahkubiru (my blood is blue). It's a denim forum based in Indonesia. Have a look.

Keren!

Basketball Night: Nike Dunk Hi Vandal Premium

Nothing special this week. Same shoes by the rest. I was hoping the boys will buy something new and wear their shoes on rotation. Barulah meriah sikit.

Anyways,

Butet: Air Jordan VIII "Orange Blaze"

Yours Truly: Dunk Hi Vandal Premium

There must be at least one reason why the shoe was named "Dunk". I guess it's for dunking. Smart.

Drink with fashion, eat also with fashion.

I did post about the fashionable Coca-Cola Light x Karl Lagerfeld Box Set a while ago, didn't I? What was my last line?

Drink it with fashion.

Apparently Charm City Cakes and Erika Lizette did a collaboration and created some yummy cakes based on her love for her Air Jordan collections in a show by Food Network called 'Ace of Cakes'.

Air Jordan V "Grape"

Air Jordan III "Fire Red"

Air Jordan I "Old Love New Love"

Now, eat also must be with fashion.

Boutique: SHOWROOM

Remember my post about the Nike Dunk SB Hi "Skunk"? If no, you can read about it HERE.

If you do remember, then I would like to introduce you to the awesome boutique where I go and grab my SB's, and other cool outfits as well.

Siap bersemangat bendera Malaysia!

The boutique is called SHOWROOM. Super straight-forward, no-bullshit name, 'showroom'. Literally.

This is the first feature of a boutique in this blog. The reason is very obvious; SHOWROOM is one the earliest place where I hung out and got my tees/jeans/caps/shoes/accessories/everything from. SHOWROOM is one of the pioneers in KL streetwear scene, besides a few more like Zone 5 and reseller shops. They started their operation (if I'm not mistaken) back in 2004.

SHOWROOM has two boutiques so far, the main boutique is located at Lot 80, Level 6, Berjaya Times Square, KL. The second outlet is located at Warisan Square, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.

So what brands do these kind people bring, to name a few?

And they accept Visa and Mastercard too. Very convenient to the fashionists

The most important thing, and what makes this boutique very well-known by the large, is that:

Ini yang mahal

Yep, they hold the Nike SB account. So far I think they are the only (or might be another one shop) account holder for Nike SB's. Priceless.

If you wanna know more about SHOWROOM, just go to their website at www.showroom.com.my. Oh this page popped out:

Nevertheless, you can subscribe to their mailing list, or you can go there and see it yourself or you can call SHOWROOM KL at 03-21442292. Speak to the super-friendly manager Matthew and he will assist you accordingly.

Nike SB Dunk Hi "Skunk" (2010)

I guess you have all seen the preview about the Nike SB Dunk Hi "Skunk" last week, haven't you? Well today is very much a nice moment for me, let me tell you.

Why?

This is why,

I buy what is relevant to me, or something that has a meaning to it. Well, apart from it sometimes I also buy stuff that is also beautiful, but has no meaning, like, blondes.

Today marks the day that the air is filled with joy, and we are all again, liberated.

I know I don't make sense now, and you know why...

This is why...............

4:20 all over the world Jah!

Nike Dunk Hi Premium "Glow in the Dark" (2006)

I wish I had a part on my body that glows in the dark. A particular part, where people can see it glowing in the dark. Must be awesome.

But now I better stay on my topic.

Remember the previous post I wrote about Adidas Consortium 'Unforeseen' collection? Particularly the glow-in-the-dark Campus 80. Yeah, that's what I wanna write about: glow in the dark sneaker.

Actually this (glow in the dark effect) is not something new, if you ask me. In fact, because of that, I would like to share a pair of my shoes from my personal collection here.

This is a super-sweet pair that I own for couple of years already, and I have worn it only for a couple of times, the most. It is my Nike Dunk Hi Premium "Glow in the Dark".

Look at these babies when they are on krypton,

Marvel...

It is a really clean, plain butter, extremely in pale green-yellowish color (just like the cannabutter) ha ha ha!

4:20 is just around the corner!

Again as you can see, the size is 9.5US (I'm a 10US) but it didn't matter, as this is hard to get. The Dunk Hi "Glow in the Dark" has two versions, and mine was the first.

The second version however is not quite my taste,

Few different shades of green with some kind of lizard-ish texture

Anyway, the 'glow in the dark' is ALWAYS nice to be worn at night (d'uhh), especially at the Halloween party.

By the way, when I said, "I wish I had a part on my body that glows in the dark. A particular part, where people can see it glowing in the dark. Must be awesome," I meant this,

Preview: Adidas Consortium 'Unforeseen' Collection - second drop

Adidas have released their second installment of their super exclusive Adidas Consortium 'Unforeseen' collection. The first installment which is the Non-Dyed Pack can be seen HERE.

This is part of their Consortium Series that is only made available at only top-tier Adidas accounts. Simple keyword: LIMITED EDITION.

This second installment showed a range of three models - Campus 80, Gazelle OG and Spezial.

Campus 80

Gazelle OG

Spezial

I have to say, these three gems are well-diverse, in terms of materials and color combo. The Gazelle OG and Spezial are not bad either, straight-forward yummy. But I wanna focus on the Campus 80.

Looking under the normal light the Campus 80 is just a premium leather sneaker with in pale yellowish-green.

However, kill the lights and the glow-in-the-dark uppers will go nuclear.

If you wish to grab a pair of these awesome Consortium Series, worry not as it is now available at our friendly neighbor Limited Edt Vault 313 Somerset, #04-13/14 Orchard Road, Singapore. Or you can just give them a call to check the stock or the size at +65 6834 4904.

Basketball Night: Air Max 1 Premium SP

Couple of nights ago.

Panjang: Nike Air Zoom Flight Club

Bujur: Reebok Allen Iverson "The Answer XII"

Shano: Nike Zoom LBJ Ambassador II

Kam: Nike Zoom LeBron V

Tambun: And1 shoes (sorry I'm terrible with And1 models)

Yours Truly: Nike Air Max 1 Premium SP

I'm aware that this is not a practical shoe to wear for balling, but I have to tell ya, I moved freely and it's lightweight. Only concern for me is that it doesn't support my ankle, as this is a running shoe. And it's very tahan lasak. I might use it again, unless I found a better replacement.

Preview: Nike SB Dunk Hi "Skunk"

What is green and purple with hints of orange? If you answered the girl of my dream, you might be right, but on this particular matter, you are wrong.

The right answer is the Nike SB Dunk Hi "Skunk".

My GREEN dream

This pair uses suede material, and to add more character to the shoe (so that it live up to its name) it went through some kind of 'distressing' process to achieve the 'grass' effect. There are few shades of green, as there are many type of 'grass', as we already know. The swoosh is in purple color, just like how Jimi Hendrix loved it. And finally the stitching is in orange, go figure. What a talent! Other unique feature is the hidden stash pocket under the tongue, which I have no idea what that is for *innocent*

Click the image to view in details

The dizzy red-slant-eyed little skunk

This pair was again designed by Todd Bratrud, who previously did great jobs especially with the Nike SB Dunk Hi "Send Help" and the Nike Dunk Hi "Todd Bratrud", both were Quickstrike releases.

Nike SB Dunk Hi "Send Help"

Nike Dunk Hi "Todd Bratrud"

Nowadays "Go Green!" slogans are being used everywhere, and Nike shouts the same thing too, only this time the particular pair shouts a different interpretation of the phrase. When on earth can you find a "green and purple with hints of orange" skunk? Exactly.

This will be a perfect instrument for me for the period of April, an indication of period when 4:20 rolls around and the air is filled with the property of licking.

Expected to drop on our shore by now. It will be available at SHOWROOM.

Be ready to get yourselves GREENED........

Recap: 'All For the Charity' Event

Back in February, there was a charity initiative called All For the Charity, held on to raise money for the Haiti Earthquake Relief Fund. This noble cause was championed by the famous local lifestyle/streetwear website, Streething and its little sister website, Femmething.

In four hours of alternative retail experience, the event proudly raised RM32,000, and everybody was happy!

Few days ago they released the video recap of the charity event, just to share especially with those who didn't manage to make it that time. Watch it.

I was there too and I did snap some photos. Lousy ones though.

Some of the crowd who came for the auction

Some of the sneakers that were up for auction

Some cheap sale from as low as RM200!

Or even lower at RM150!!

Or even much lower at RM100!!!

Yours Truly a.k.a. The Sado-Fashionist

If you wish to see more of the pictorial recap, you can click HERE. The Sado-Fashionist was spotted in one of the photos *grin*
