Super Slim?

I was a little bit skeptic when it comes to wearing skinny fit trousers/jeans. I don't mind slim fitting as I'm wearing that fitting currently for quite a while. I mean, I've tried Cheap Monday skinny fit jeans before this but gosh did I look like an idiot. That was about three or four years ago. I never intended to try again after that.

But somehow after some time, I found out that my slim fitting trousers look more loose than I thought. Maybe I lost weight, maybe I don't work out much hence my muscles shrunk, maybe I don't drink enough water. I'm not sure.

So last night I went out to find some trousers for myself.

Look at that!

And for the first time, super slim is the shiznit! I'm gonna stick to that from now on.

Dockers Spring 2011 Collection

I know I have not updated anything since the last event. I was too busy with so many projects (still am) but fashion is like my second nature already.

Tonight I will resurrect.

Eco Film Fest 2010 - A Fun Thrash Fashion Competition for University Students!

Bring out the Fashion Police cause we are going to knock your fashion socks off at the Eco Film Fest 2010. Organised by Global Environment Centre (GEC) in partnership with CIMB Islamic, this fashion competition encourages university students to be creative in coming up with a fashion statement using only recycled items.

Be it plastics, paper, or even metal, this competition aims to fuse creativity and the idea of reusing items in the name of fashion. If you are a university student and would like to participate, sign up with GEC TODAY!

Dress it up! Most of the things we throw away can usually be used to make something new! What better way to re-use items than to fashion it into new clothes!

So get creative and design an entire outfit out of old or used items. A fashion show will be held at the Eco Film Festival on 17th October to show off your creation – so make sure you have a model ready and that your clothes can be worn!

1st Prize RM 1000*

2nd Prize RM 600*

3rd Prize RM 400*

*At least one person in the winning group must be a CIMB Islamic Ecosave Account holder to receive this amount. Groups who do not have an account holder within the group will only receive half the allocated prize money (i.e. 1st prize - RM 500, 2nd prize - RM 300, 3rd prize - RM 200).

All Entries MUST:
  • Be made out of USED recyclable items and/or old, reusable materials.
  • Be something practical that can be worn without falling apart.
  • Cover the main body areas. Acceptable combination include: a dress, skirt and blouse, pants/shorts and shirt/top. Other accessories like shoes, bags, ties etc. can be included but must also be made out of recycled items.
DOWNLOAD the Entry Submission Form

Entries will be judged based on:
  • Creativity/Originality
  • Practicality
  • Quality of Finishing
  • Adherence to theme
  • Use of old/reusable materials

Competition Rules
  1. Participants can be individuals or groups with a maximum of 3 people.
  2. Each entry must have a fully completed Entry Submission form attached to it.
  3. ONE entry per person or group.
  4. Participants must be present at the judging and prize-giving ceremony on 17th October 2010 at Green Rooms, Eco Film Festival 2010.

Entries that do not adhere to these rules will be instantly disqualified.

NOTES / TIPS:
  • It may be argued that old or used clothes are considered re-using materials. It definitely is. But it is advisable to get a little bit more creative and use unconventional materials like used plastic bottles, box drink cartons, old newspapers etc. It should be as 'natural' and creative as possible and yet practical.
  • Things like glue, thread etc. can obviously be used to put together the garment, but obviously if you can find a better way to put it together without using new materials that would be a bonus.

What are you waiting for? Use your thrash to make some serious money and most importantly, your fashion statement!

Style, is yours.

This is what we call STYLE. It has all the varieties and versatility to go on different time of different days.

I'm aware that only a very few of us can afford to buy different things for each occasion, but don't get yourself confused, fashion is merely temporary, but if you can find your own style, and that includes finding the right fit, material, color and so on, that's more rewarding..

Be all that you can be. Be your own stylist.
