Preview: Nike SB Dunk Hi "Skunk"

What is green and purple with hints of orange? If you answered the girl of my dream, you might be right, but on this particular matter, you are wrong.

The right answer is the Nike SB Dunk Hi "Skunk".

My GREEN dream

This pair uses suede material, and to add more character to the shoe (so that it live up to its name) it went through some kind of 'distressing' process to achieve the 'grass' effect. There are few shades of green, as there are many type of 'grass', as we already know. The swoosh is in purple color, just like how Jimi Hendrix loved it. And finally the stitching is in orange, go figure. What a talent! Other unique feature is the hidden stash pocket under the tongue, which I have no idea what that is for *innocent*

The dizzy red-slant-eyed little skunk

This pair was again designed by Todd Bratrud, who previously did great jobs especially with the Nike SB Dunk Hi "Send Help" and the Nike Dunk Hi "Todd Bratrud", both were Quickstrike releases.

Nowadays "Go Green!" slogans are being used everywhere, and Nike shouts the same thing too, only this time the particular pair shouts a different interpretation of the phrase. When on earth can you find a "green and purple with hints of orange" skunk? Exactly.

This will be a perfect instrument for me for the period of April, an indication of period when 4:20 rolls around and the air is filled with the property of licking.

Expected to drop on our shore by now. It will be available at SHOWROOM.

Be ready to get yourselves GREENED........

Recap: 'All For the Charity' Event

Back in February, there was a charity initiative called All For the Charity, held on to raise money for the Haiti Earthquake Relief Fund. This noble cause was championed by the famous local lifestyle/streetwear website, Streething and its little sister website, Femmething.

In four hours of alternative retail experience, the event proudly raised RM32,000, and everybody was happy!

Few days ago they released the video recap of the charity event, just to share especially with those who didn't manage to make it that time. Watch it.

I was there too and I did snap some photos. Lousy ones though.

Some of the crowd who came for the auction

Some of the sneakers that were up for auction

Some cheap sale from as low as RM200!

Or even lower at RM150!!

Or even much lower at RM100!!!

Basketball Night: Air Jordan 5 'Green Bean'

I have a regular basketball session every Tuesday night at Sports Barn. Been balling there for almost a year now.

Couple of months ago I bought a pair of Air Jordan 5 'Green Bean' from a friend in Jakarta. Although it is 9.5US (I'm usually a 10US - extra comfort and space) it was a sweet deal and I just couldn't resist it.

I always dig Air Jordan 1 - 5, especially Air Jordan 4. For some, like jagunghangus digs the Air Jordan 1 - 12 (reason being is that Air Jordan 13 and afterward were made after Michael Jordan retired from professional basketball). To me, it's all about your personal preference. To each his own.

It's even flashes back (reflective-coated material) Not very visible I guess.
I'll try to snap the picture at night some time

So this was my recent Tuesday session few nights back. Though there were not many, only eight came that night. Nevertheless, I managed to snap some photos of the shoes the boys were wearing.

Sugil: Air Jordan 12 'Flu Game'

Bujor: Nike Air Zoom Kevin Durant 'kd2'

Butet: Air Jordan 15

Wan Sk8: And1 shoes (I'm not sure which model) and lousy Crocs

Yours Truly: Air Jordan 5 'Green Bean'

For the last one month I've been trashing my Green Bean on the court. I personally think the shoe is pretty decent. Well, the early Jordans are kinda classic you know. It gives you some kind of 'superstar' feeling when you are balling in it.

But the frustrating part is that, the soles look like they gonna kaput soon, unless I do something about it fast.

I never signed up for this!

Yeah, it doesn't look good for a so-called premium basketball brand, I know. So I will have to find a good cobbler to fix this. This needs to be sewn to make sure it won't tear off for good. As of next week, I'm thinking of trying other pair of shoes.

Till we meet again with different sneakers.

Coca-Cola Light x Karl Lagerfeld Box Set

As fashion is the main content for this blog, who can resist drinking Coca-Cola in the most fashionable way?

Coca-Cola have teamed up with the man they say the icon of fashion, Karl Lagerfeld to produce the limited edition Coca-Cola Light x Karl Lagerfeld Box Set.

It is more of a collector's item than a casual drink, but hey, what do we know?

It is now available at Colette E-shop at a friendly EUR60 (for the box set) or also sold separately with a lower price of EUR3.50 per bottle. Pretty difficult to decide, eh?

How do you drink a EUR60 Coca-Cola Light? Drink it with fashion.

Puma Urban Mobility by Hussein Chalayan

Underrated sports/lifestyle brand Puma has launched their Puma Urban Mobility Collection, an array of stylish and technical-functional range, inspired by none other than their famous Creative Director, Hussein Chalayan.

The Collection is one of the most interesting line to come from Puma in a while.

The 'Motus' Chukka Boot is really a beautiful shoe, and the suede-leather is pure butter. This is my favourite model! With what has been presented to the market, we can expect more interesting products from Puma in the future.

The Collection has also arrived at Leftfoot Entrepot, Singapore. I just called them and they still have the Motus in my 9UK size! Oh, that will cost me a pretty SGD380.

Ain't nothing like Clarks.

I've always fond of Clarks shoes. My first shoes of the brand was the world-renowned Wallabees.

The actual structure

It was a gift from my ex-girlfriend, I think seven or eight years ago. Actually I did ask her to buy for me as a gift when she went to England for holiday. And Wallabees I got. Although it was oversized (I'm a 9UK, but she bought 10UK) it still didn't matter to me. I loved the shoes since I was still in high school (that was more than 10 years ago).

After I got the present (insisted to be presented to me he he he I'm a naughty naughty boy), I started to wear it regularly. It became a 'beater' (it's a slang for trashing the shoes - in a loving way) to me, up until now.

After seven years of loyalty, honor and respect

The thing about Wallabees especially, apart from Desert Trek, Desert Boots and the rest, is that it has been a popular style choice for many celebrities from Takuya Kimura, The Gallagher brothers, Ian Brown, Pharrell Williams, Kid Cudi just to name a few.

So yesterday I felt like I belong in between those names I mentioned earlier,

Wearing my Wally...

After so many years, I've decided to give my Wallabees a rest it deserves. Since I already have one in black suede, and too bad Clarks Malaysia don't bring in Wallabees to our shores anymore, now I settled with the Desert Trek which is no less interesting. Even when I was in the boutique, copping myself the Desert Trek, both the promoter guy and girl were stunned to see the Wallabees on my feet; dusty, worn out, but still looking strong and relevant.

By the way, few days back on a lazy Monday,

Burgundy leather, fresh, classy, un-seasoned (will definitely be in couple of years), gum soles:
YUMMY.

I'm still eyeing for a few more models from Clarks (including the Wallabees - God help me get this). If only my employer would offer me more money.
