Men's Bag

These document holders look stunning and yet still look very masculine with the premium, reptilian leather finishing. Who says men can't wear some kind of 'clutch' bag? It works for me!

Vans are cool, man!

Let's be realistic, a normal, average, next-door guy like me, I have a day job. My attire? Formal or semi formal, depends on who I meet for appointments but often it's determined by the weather. Nonetheless, either formal or semi formal.

Formal

Semi formal

That covers my entire day of the weekdays. In the evening I'm either at the gym, the basketball court, the futsal court, or at home. I only go out sometimes for other social activities. That's pretty much just t-shirt, shorts and running/basketball shoes, or just plain naked.

That leaves me only during the weekend to wear something different from my weekdays attire. And that's why I have a WEEKENDER column.

So to narrow down further, most of these weekends I made some effort to try something with my wardrobe. Usually it's pretty much the normal stuff though.

But during the lazy weekends, or rather a chill day, when all I want to wear is something simple and comfortable, yet still within certain style, I choose Vans. Any time.

Some of the Vans in my heavy rotations:

Vans Sk8 Hi (Gucci Colorway)

Vans Era (Checked)

Vans Slip-On x Marc Jacobs

Yes they don't look that pretty and clean, and I bet Paul Van Doren would be damn proud if he sees me justifying the existence of his Vans.

And yes too, I have few more.

Wild Wallet

You can see most of my entries have something to do with sneakers. It's obvious, I love sneakers. It's quite an easy decision: A fresh, good-looking sneakers will always stand out more, compared to tee/shirt, jeans/pants or accessories.

But don't get confused; I love other elements of style too. One of it, is wallet.

Wallet is part of accessories. Back in the days I used different wallets; leather, canvas, PVC, though I only remember having a Bvlgari wallet some years ago.

Let me tell you something: Getting the right wallet is just like getting a new pair of watch. It needs to fit you and your personality. It needs to represent your character, in a way. You need to love it. Imagine yourself buying a watch, you need to decide what colour it's going to be, whether it's metal or leather or canvas, round or square dial, analog or digital, and other tiny details.

If you don't believe me, just give some amount of money to someone close to you, and let him/her buy any watch for you. That person will definitely take some time to search for a suitable piece to match your personality. Well of course, if you have deep pockets and you have few pairs already, the rest would just fit in the occasions.

Same goes with wallet.

After that I got lost in other interests, and the current wallet I'm using is this:

This is a Topshop wallet, which I received as a birthday gift, two or three years ago, can't really remember. I needed a new wallet desperately that time, and what would fill that responsible, other than a birthday gift wallet?

This wallet serves me well. I changed more broken credit cards than the wallet itself.

But every good things do come to an end. I no longer need the service of that wallet, or shall I rephrase, the wallet couldn't handle my attitude anymore. Poor fella.

So I browsed through the internet, looking for a replacement. Something that fits me, my personality, my inner sense. My new, using-my-own-money wallet will have to live up to my expectation.

While I was browsing on different websites and forums (well, you can get nice stuff on forums at a decent price most of the time, just make sure it's legit) I bumped on a very, very striking and bold-looking wallet.

So that weekend I went off to the boutique.

It was a quick stop. Met an old friend, Skyylab (he works there) and paid for the stuff. Rushed home impatiently.

Skyylab also was generous to give some nice Juice stickers.

Nyum nyum...

There you go.

This is a wild collection by Head Porter, a very famous accessories brand (mainly wallet and bags, among other things) from Japan. When I first saw this piece it immediately struck my attention and I just couldn't stop talking about it ever since. And I got it.

Blue (outside) and red (inside). Wild. Wild.

Embossed and debossed

I'm a little concerned about environment, so don't worry it wasn't constructed using real crocodile leather, instead it was made using cow hide leather, and designed to look like a croc leather. A good way to not abuse those poor crocs. And of course, it comes with their standard authenticity card.

You can check out Head Porter on their Official Online Store. And thanks to Juice KL, you can check out their collections at:

Air Jordan 1 Retro High "DTRT" (2009)

Last year marks the 20th Anniversary of the 1989 movie ‘Do The Right Thing‘ which was written and directed by Spike Lee. Since Jordan himself and Spike Lee have a close personal relationship which each other, Jordan Brand has put together the Do The Right Thing Pack consisting of two Air Jordan 1 High models.

Late last year, my friend Eri from Jakarta (again) offered to sell his white/red pair to me at a very reasonable price. I couldn't refuse.

And yeah I broke them fresh not long after it reached my hands.

Straight up fire.

Then this thing hits me; now that I do have two pairs of all white leather upper, red swoosh, red lace, hi-top, Nike sneakers. Dunk SB Hi "Mafia" and this pair. That doesn't make sense. I need to do something about this.

As you see, I obviously can't customise the Mafia Hi, since it's full patent leather. And this AJ1 is full grain leather, though it's not easy to customise it, it's not impossible. And I know one person that can do this for me, someone I can trust.

What will happen to this pair?

Stay tuned.

Nike SB Dunk Hi Mafia "Goodfellas" (2006)

Being a male, and as other male, I started my life as a boy, then a guy, and now a man. Well, unless something completely or terribly or drastically wrong happen during the childhood phase (as a boy), you might continue as a soft guy, and end up being a woman.

That's not what I want to talk about now.

As a typical normal male, we love action-packed, violent, bloody films. Anything from war, gangsters, triads, mafia, yakuza, car-chase, gun fights, you tell me. Well, that's just a natural testosterone talking. And one of my all-time favourite film is Martin Scorsese's Goodfellas. Well I'm sure many of us have watched it. It's a mafia-based film. Serves my man's ego.

So about four years ago, two pairs of Nike SB Dunk were released in the market, named the Mafia Lo and Mafia Hi. These two pairs were nicknamed "Goodfellas", as I mentioned in the previous paragraph.

I didn't get the chance to buy it upon the release date, but I always tell myself, "good things do come by". So did the Mafia Hi.

All white patent leather upper, contrast red stitching, red reptilian swoosh. Spice.

Sado Snaps: Candy Friday.

Pink hair clip, baby pink tee, yellow with white straps backpack, turquoise short pants.

And then the sneakers.

It came to me by a complete surprise. And I couldn't recognise what pair was that.

Well maybe some people do have some kind of eccentricity in them, don't they?
